Goood evenin, hi there, hola and yo
WAYYYYY back in 2007 after amecon '07 was done and dusted and with everything that happened 3 years ago, myself and the lady took it upon ourselves to do a UCPCA (unoffical cosplay peoples choice award) in search of the absolute best cosplayer that has literally blown everyone away in previous years. This however has been something me and the lady have done Amecon only and we would like to know of you lot want this tiny tradition to continue.
Unoffically mind you as this isn't and has never been an event of Amecon persay, but then again it has been 2 cons running. After Ame 07 finished I came here on the forum to ask your views on doing the UCPCA and I asked for your thoughts and votes on who was the best cosplayer going and Boy you guys didn't dissapoint, you responded full force in over 10-15+ pages on here.
Furthermore the UCPCA has never been funded by anyone but yours truly and we never ask for a dime, other then your votes. That's all that matters. Probably thinking why at this point? Well why not?
Truthfully the main purpose of our starting the event 3 years ago (unoffically) was a simple 'thank you' for all the hard work you nutters put into your cosplays and that feeling for me has never changed 4 years running around to god knows how many cons ive been to, ive lost count. You guys still keep working hard and still keep impressing me every con, and that's the best way forward...to know that you guys make something that amazing that you have to stop and stare, smile or even stand in awe and appreciate hard work and raw talent.
So really, nothings changed, it's still a simple a thank you, it's still money out of my pocket for rewarding just 1 person, that every cosplayer will get a chance to vote on. Cuz at the end of the day, giving someone, anyone something for their hard work and saying 'Thank you' may actually mean a lot to some people, maybe it doesnt? But still I'm interesting in continuing this tiny tradition on.
Previous Winners are as follows:
2007: GraceWing- Red XIII cosplay
2008: Fat Kraken- Kamahri cosplay
Thats 2 furries that have won thus far, will a 3rd furry take the award or is it not to be if you guys dont want it back? Lemmee know^^

... I'm not a furry!
I'd love to see this continue on, it's a wonderful idea and it's really great to see Anime fans and cosplayers pull together to vote as they do. I still have the lovely trophy you gave me, it's been pride of place in my room since 2007 (incidentally where did those three years go?!).

Heh TBH I don't know where those 3 years have gone but they've been very enjoyable life and con wise since ame 06 onwards^^. As the award you won 3 years ago myself and the lady are very flattered to hear you still have the award. The people spoke and you were a dead pan winner when I posted the idea up here when ame 07 finished. I'd like that little tradition to continue but perhaps maybe I'll get the thoughts and views of many once ame '10 is done.
I tried to get the votes of many at ame 08 by goin everywhere on the leicester grounds but that proved to be a tiresome task not to mention I probably only got the votes of 100+ out of the 1000+ ppl that went to the last ame. So lesson learned, it's best to get the views and votes on here as it isn't an actual offical event^^
