Looks like it'll hafta be the Ramada for me then. I would stay on site, but I hear they don't like couples sharing rooms. Me and my girlfriend have lived together for over a year now, so it'd just be weird to sleep in seperate rooms.

Do the Ramada charge your card straight away or do you pay when you check in/ out?

EDIT: Newcastle-Under-Lynne brings up a fair few results... Which is the one closest to the convention? =S

Afr0blu, go here:
http://www.ramadanewcastleul.co.uk/

But book through ramada.com as they have better deals. :) If you type in newcastle-under-lyme on the site, it is the first result up, on Clayton Road.

this is about 3 miles away from the site. Google maps gives it a ten minute driving distance.

I agree about the weirdness of sleeping in seperate rooms, frankly I can't get to sleep if he's not in the same room as me and trying to fit both of us onto those tiny beds at Ayacon last year was a nightmare!

(Also, yes, if you decide to book one of their special offers, i.e. the "spring sale" deal, then they charge you now. if you go for the full priced room then it's charged when you arrive.)

I was looking for a hotel, because I thought it really odd for me and my boyfriend to be sleeping in a different room, but I just gave up and paid for the onsite accomodation anyway.

I haven't got anything sorted yet and really don't know where to stay. What are the nearest places? I have to say I'm on a bit of budget.

Well some of the hotels and B&Bs on the following are already fully booked (I know Keele Management Centre is, as is I believe the Old School) but a few of these B&Bs and Hotels are still available. Searched on the distance from Keele Uni's postcode.
