Many thanks to all for the info! I really should have come back to check on this sooner... x.x;

Having looked at the timetable from Stoke, I'd hazard a guess that the following stops all seem to be in the general uni area:

Does anyone know which would be the best to aim for if you're staying in the on-site accomodation? I know that the first and last stop above are only 6 mins apart, but not knowing where you're going can make getting off at the wrong stop incredibly daunting!

Many thanks in advance again :)

Keele, Main Rd, Opp, Darwin Building

This is the stop to arrive at for accommodation reception in the Darwin building. :)

The shuttle thing is an awesome idea!

Will there be an announcement or something closer to the time so we know where and when we need to be to catch these buses?

Yes there will :) Keele University SU are just finalising shifts with their drivers (we have draft times, but we will not be releasing these until they are confirmed) As soon as we know we will bring the news straight to you :D

This evening :) One thing is still unconfirmed so I think we are going to announce what we have, and if the final confirmation comes through from the SU (I believe they are just finding a replacement driver for one of the internal timeslots later in the weekend) it will be updated in the Opening Ceremony.

I should have got this up over the weekend, so my fault on this, a week-long veterinary emergency has left me pretty wiped and the extremely bad timing has meant a few things I should have sorted by now are being done this evening.

Hi all,

I'm a Keelite, so I can give you some well informed information about anything around our little green patch.

Buses

If you're arriving from the Stoke-on-Tent station then indeed get the 25 towards Keele.
Use the bus stop on the opposite side of the road from the station: http://tinyurl.com/keele-bus

Thanks for that incredibly helpful link, looks like the Googlemobile must've been going past at the same time as a bus stopped there and you can actually see a 25 to Keele in the picture. Unfortunately as I'm arriving on the Thursday I won't be able to take advantage of the newly announced shuttle bus service so I'll have to stick with plain old public transport.

Here's some (hopefully) helpful links of my own:

http://nextbuses.mobi/ - Locate a particular bus stop and it'll give you the times of the next few buses due to stop at that stop. It's mobile compatible (hence the mobi) but works fine on regular PCs too. Here are links to a few relevant bus stops:

Darwin Building (opp) on Main Road, Keele
Darwin Building (adj) on Main Road, Keele
Stoke-on-Trent Rail Station (stop E, opp) on Station Road, Stoke-on-Trent

According to that the 25 bus
Mon-friday Buses are every 10 minutes
Saturday every 20
Sunday every 30

And its about 30 to the train station from Keele and 40 to Stoke center...

Perhaps it's a stupid question, but does anyone know the frequency of the service between the station and Keele?

And does the 8am start mean there is a bus at the station at 8am or at Keele at 8am.

I'm just thinking that if there is just one shuttle bus going between the two, and I just miss it, I may be better off catching the First bus.
