I am using glow in the dark paints for my party cosplay - it would be nice if it showed up there but if not due to health issues that fine too ... Ill just probably be very visible walking to and from the party!

Where have you brought your glow in the dark paints from? I'm struggling to find ones that aren't UV based!

Hey,

Wanting to buy some glow in the dark paint for the night time. Just wondered if anyone knew if there was going to be a UV light anywhere, as then I know what paints to buy - UV sensitive or actual Glow in the dark if there is no UV/Black light.
Can't remember if there was one at previous Ame's ....

Thanks,
Lyndz

it'd be awesome if there was UV lights.
I've painted pink uv paint on my Juri cosplay on the top, so it looks pink in the light but will GLOW EPICLY at the Saturday disco *dnaces*

Yeah, those screens were pretty awesome.

I've been to partys with those before, those are really awesome, I hope they have them this time too.

I can check with our tech teams what sort of lights we have available for our use. I do know that we have asked to either tone down (or possibly completely remove - not 100% sure) the strobe lights on account of the number of people who they affected in previous years.

I can offically say this has now make my con. I'll finally be able to enjoy my first Amecon disco ^^

As an epileptic, I might be of some help on the UV situation. At Ayacon (sorry for mentioning it ORZ, Only disco I've been to) they had UV lights and it caused no problems for me (even when drunk) especially as everyone were just wearing them including me.

Just another query - what of the big screens that show the AMVs playing when the discos are on? Will they be back? I loved them in all the previous Ames I'd been to. :D

Have checked with the lovely Ame staff, and yes, there will be screens (without sound) during the Saturday night jpop/anime party, showing a selection of Japanese commercials, PVs, and anime videos :)

Pity they didn't actually remove the strobe.

Maybe I'll be able to go to something over the next two nights?

Kinda dissapointed because they said they wouldn't mess around with strobe lighting, but there was some in a few situations. I had to leave the Omake rehearsals because they were messing around with some strobe :( And there was a lot of it still there at the parties :(

I don't have a life threatening illness, but it does trigger migraine which leaves me out of action for around 3 days+

I wouldn't have minded if I'd have been warned >.< Feel more sorry for the people with epilepsy >.<

I was sad when the strobes were occasionally used in the Saturday night disco too. Even as a DJ, I really don't like them - they make it hard to see my laptop screen and the volume controls etc. and they give me a headache. Would be nice if we could ask the venue to cut them out totally in the future as there seems to be a lot of people who don't like them at all.
