Yu-Gi-Oh!-wise, are there any plans for a constructed tournament? What was the turnout like last year? I was at Amecon '08 in the eight-or-something-man Starter Deck Tournament, but I was just wondering if anything bigger happened last year.

... I have yet to recover from losing to the 60-card HERO/Yubel Deck.

Yeah, no intentions for Ame this year, far too late notice and I wouldn't be able to do it, I've been too busy with Ame.

Maybe the projection thing is a little ambitious. but over the top, round the con, random duels for star chips would be awesome.

That's unfortunate. Not sure i'd want to take the whole traditional games room on, was looking forward to a relatively simple year next year. I'd be more than willing to organise/co-organise the yu gi oh cosplay tourney though. It won't be easy and it'll take some thought to please everyone without having 12 kaibas, 3 yugies and a jaden yuki (you mangamad!) also the themed decks thing might bring up some tricky bits too.

I'll bring this up on the next August anime conventions forums when we know what's going down.
Oh yes, but this is definately happening in cosplay on Sunday for me.

There will be constructed events for people to play in. But after the funfunfun of having a guy turn up with a rediculous T1 teched deck and stomp everyone who was playing for fun, the big events I do draft/sealed now to make it fairer.

You're welcome to come along and just chill out and play but I'll give fair warning here yelling about your trap cards too loud may result in defenestration from the room.

Just a quick reminder for people. Today is the last day you can request games to be brought along. I'll try my best to get what people are wanting tomorrow but no promises.

Also I am sat **** deep in magic cards right now trying to separate out all my basic lands.

I remember when it was a 60 card Dark Magician deck. I'm surprised I won that one, I was running a Magnet Warrior deck with gyuaku gire/beast support. Then again I almost qualified the first round with the same deck at the nationals that year, really annoyed all the CED/EOB decks

I have about 4 different decks. So don't be surprised. XD

Run from the Chaos Control/Perfect Circle Monarchs/Gyzarus-spam/Tele-DAD/Twilight/X-Sabers/Quick-Dandy-Debris!

"I Summon Elemental Hero Avian and set two cards face-down. Your move!"

"Heavy; Foolish; Wulf; Charge to fetch Ryko; Wulf; attack; attack; set (Ryko); set (Bottomless Trap Hole); end."

If CED/EOB means Chaos Emperor Dragon/Envoy of the Beginning, that means that would be a 60-card Dark Magician Deck before Dark Magic Curtain was released in English. What.

The regionals were a about 6 month before, I ran the same deck at ame. I think MangaMad was running DM, with DMG with that sorcerers stone thing and a few others. I believe it was before DM curtain was released.

Some dude was running a faux ra deck too (Maju-Gazarett or whatever, but once summoned he switched out the ra card), was pretty fun.

Yep, Curtain wasn't out during that year. Also, some of use use the advance rules too (which all of my deck are under "advance").

Right so that's Citidels to bring from the collection.

I'll take a look and see if anything jumps out at me but otherwise that was surprisingly easy.

Now to figure out where to fit 12 boxes of CCG cards in my case along with everything else.....
