Three days of events!

Friday

Our first day starts with registration, opening at 11am.

Our content schedule begins from 1pm, kicking off our exciting weekend of panels, quizzes and workshops. Look forward to highlights like our Very Hard Quiz and Frilly Friday celebration of your favourite Harajuku fashion.

The Bring and Buy will open for drop-offs from 1pm to 5pm.

The day ends with our fabulous Pajama Party, a comfy extravaganza, along with some of the best retro boardgames and activities straight from the toy aisles back in the 1980s. If that’s not your taste, we’ll also be beginning our evening anime schedule, with fantastic retro anime provided by our friends at MVM Films.

Saturday

Saturday’s schedule starts from 10am with panels and workshops, starting with traditional cel painting!

The Dealers Room will from at 10am until 5pm, with a fantastic range of different artists and vendors.

The Bring and Buy will be open for drop-offs from 9:30am to 10:30, and then open for people to browse and purchase from 11am to 5pm.

The afternoon brings us more exciting panels and quizzes, and culminates with our fantastic Cosplay Masquerade, featuring some amazing cosplays and performances by our wonderful attendees.

The evening kicks off in style with the amazing Press X, and continues into the small hours with dancing and games galore, and another evening of classic retro anime.

Sunday

Take a lie-in Sunday morning, then head on down for our morning’s content from 10am.

The Dealer’s room will be open from 10am to 5pm.

The Bring and Buy will be open from 11am to 12.30pm. It will reopen between 1pm and 4pm to allow sellers to collect their earnings and any unsold items.

The morning swings in with more panels, then in the afternoon we have our fantastic Charity Auction, and we cap the weekend’s content with our closing ceremony at 6pm.

The content doesn’t stop there! Oh no, Sunday night is our end-of-con party night! Keep going ’till late with our School Disco party, filled with the very best retro jams we can find! For those who want a more sedate end of the convention, once again you can join us for drinks and the last of our video schedule.

Live Music

Saturday Night at Amecon rocks with the magnificent Press X!

We’ve asked our rocking friends to prepare a set loaded with retro flavour and stunning riffs.
They always bring the fire and we’re absolutely delighted to have them with us again!

Dealer Hall

Publishers, Importer retailers, Artists, Crafters and Fabricators are travelling from afar to exhibit with us in our Dealer Hall.
Whether you’re on the lookout for merch from your favourite shows or seeking inspired art and accessories ~ we have you covered!
Boasting only the very best of authentic physical media, art books, plushies, apparel, prints, accessories and even booze, our Dealer Hall is the perfect place to seek out new additions for your collection or home.

Opening hours are 10am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday.

As a small introduction, here’s who will be joining us with their wares:

Bring & Buy

Got some amazing merch that you just don’t have room for anymore?
Or is that limited edition body-pillow just too much for you now you’re married and have a kid and a mortgage?
Well, convert your excess merch into cash with our fantastic Bring and Buy!

The Bring and Buy will open for drop-offs on between 13:00 to 17:00 Friday and 9:30 to 10:30 Saturday.

It will open for attendees to browse and purchase between 11:00 to 17:00 Saturday  and 10:00 to 12:30 Sunday.

Sellers can collect earnings and recover any unsold items between 13:00 to 16:00 on Sunday.

Some important things to know about the Bring and Buy:

►  When you sign up to sell items at the Bring and Buy, you’ll need your attendee ID Number.
We will be sending this ID number to you by email before the start of the event, and they will be included on the back of your convention badge.

There is a 10% commission on sold items to cover convention costs.

We will accept almost anything so long as it’s legal and convention / anime related.
Please don’t drop your random Dr Who Funkos or Farscape DVDs – they’re great, but this isn’t the place.

Yes, there will be the obligatory smut box, but you have to ask to see it.

Detailed instructions will be on the Bring and Buy Sheets.

We will accept card or cash payments. Cash is preferred, but we understand that’s not always easy or convenient.

Still have questions? Please feel free to ask away in our dedicated discord thread to ask questions or you can message us via the contact page.

Cosplay

Masquerade

Our traditional showcase of the amazing talent of cosplayers in our community. Join us for walk-on cosplays, skits, and some light-hearted competition!

The Masquerade will take place Saturday at 6pm.

There will be an informal competition featuring some fun categories that will mostly be made up on the day by our judges.

Pajama Party

Friday night we bring you a new, comfy and retro-flavoured  event to add to our schedule: The Pajama Party!

Bring your best comfy PJs and settle in a cozy atmosphere with chill music and some of the finest games and activities the 80s and 90s has to offer!

Summary:

– Dress Code: Pajamas! (nothing too racy, though!)

– Time: 9PM Friday

The School Disco

We’ve decided to mix the last night of the convention this year. Instead of our usual formal ball, we’re going back to our misspent youth with a school disco themed final night party!

Just like our balls of years gone by, this will feature a soft dress code, some great music, refreshments and dancing, until we end the last night of the convention in literal old-school style!

Summary:
– Dress Code: School Uniform or Retro party looks

– Time: 8pm, Sunday

Cosplay Workshop, Panels & Studio

As well as our specific events, we’re bringing along our regular set of extras and helpful things for you.

Our workshop, stocked with tools and expertise to help your hard work shine.

Exciting cosplay panels.

A photo studio to get the best shots of your costumes and remember your time with us!

Video Schedule

This year AmeChibi is proud to be bringing back Video Rooms …only bigger and better!

We’re delighted to be showing some retro classics provided by our partner at MVM Films which we’ll schedule between and alongside our other events and parties.

Gaming

Classic Video Games

We’ve been digging through our basements and attics to find some of the best gaming from before the turn of the millennium!

We’ve got Megadrives, Playstations, N64’s and more! We’re also setting up some newer favourites  to fit the theme, with a special Retro Rock Band setlist and the retro arcade collections on Switch and XBox.

We’ll be running leaderboards, some informal competitions and more across the 3 days of the event, so check back for details!

Traditional and tabletop gaming

Just like our video games, we’ve been digging in our closets, lofts, garages and more to find some of the oldies and goldies from the toy aisles of our childhoods.

We have a collection of classic board and tabletop games waiting for you, which will be available from Friday’s Pajama Party through until the close of the event. Old classics like Screwball Scramble, Cluedo, KerPlunk and more are waiting for you to either get back to your youth or get a taste of what we had in the days before tablets and the internet!
