How can I get involved?

AmeCon events wouldn’t be at all possible without the active work of our community, and there are loads of ways you can get involved details of which are below.

Register as a Gopher

The biggest way you can support us (and in fact any fan-run con you may go to) is by volunteering your time to help with some of the hundreds of little tasks that are necessary to make a convention like this happening. Some events call these volunteers Stewards, or Guardians. We call them Gophers.

It is a well used, and much said, phrase, but conventions just couldn’t run without a group of friendly volunteers like our Gophers who offer a little of their time at the con to help out with all sorts of behind-the-scenes stuff. It’s a great way to meet new people as well, with some solid friendships being made, and it can give you a good peek at what running a con undertakes.

As an added incentive, all our Gophers get a Gopher Badge with unique artwork, and you can even get a free registration to a future AmeCon event

Run an Event

We are looking to curate a wide range of attendee run events, and this is your chance to participate. It can be a simple panel with a slideshow as a good visual hook, it could be a quiz or gameshow, you could choose to demonstrate some craft or skill of yours that you enjoy. As long as you make it fun and friendly to the crowd and in the spirit of the event, we want to hear your ideas.

Best of all as a thank you to our event runners you will be receive an Event Runner badge with unique artwork for AmeChibi 2025, and you can get free registration for a future AmeCon Event.

Join in for our Masquerade and Omake

Very soon we will be looking for some of our talented attendees to take part in our Masquerade and Omake.

Our Masquerade is the perfect opportunity to show off your Cosplay skills by presenting it to the convention on stage. It’s a great way to get some photos of your work, and a cheer from the crowd as you take to the stage and do your best pose! You can enter on your own, or you can sign up with some friends to put on a group show!

If you want to take it a step further, you can sign up as an Omake act. Singing, Dancing, Comedy Skits, all options are open for you to get up on stage and entertain the Amechibi 2025 crowd. As with the masquerade you can perform solo or as group, all in all the perfect way to show your talents off!
